Halo Fest’s Infinite Open 4v4 isn’t a vibe check. It’s sixteen Team Passes, HCS points, and a short calendar that is already moving.

According to Halo Waypoint’s Esports at Halo Fest 2026 competition page, the events that count toward Infinite Open 4v4 Team Pass qualification include:

• Global Grassroots Cup 1 — August 29–30
• Global Grassroots Cup 2 — September 26–27
• Global Grassroots Cup 3 — October 17–18
• DreamHack Birmingham and DreamHack Atlanta (points decayed by 90%)

Waypoint is blunt about weight: those tournaments “include HCS points and will have heavy influence on your ability to qualify for the Open 4v4.” DreamHack points still matter for seeding math, but the decay is designed so recent Cups carry the real fight.

Cup 2 lands this coming weekend. That is not “someday in the fall.” That is seven days from a Saturday lobby.

What Cup 2 actually is

European Halo League lists the weekend as EHL x LVT Global Grassroots Cup 2, dated 26 Sept – 27 Sept 2026, under the Halo Championship Series grassroots lane. EHL notes it is recognized as an HCS Grassroots Partner — community events aligned with official Halo Infinite esports standards.

The Open 4v4 itself is a 16-team bracket with a $20,000 prize pool, running Saturday, December 12, with Grand Finals on Sunday, December 13 — again per Waypoint.

So Cup 2 is not a standalone meme weekend. It is middle rung on the only recent-points ladder that Waypoint has publicly tied to those sixteen passes.
